Blink, colors, etc. - Again, got some of these in the blog post on battery indicators. Almost word-for-word take anything about tones: has to be explained on screen (can be status, not modal dialogue), should have some self-evident meaning. Red is bad. Unless its your brand. Also about blink rats and glanceability. Nothing should blink infrequently, and when possible avoid blinking at all.
